Xian
Muslim town , Xian. Still intact , unlike the rest of the city. First sights of what will be the cuisine from here to the west.
Gansu province
Typical tourist attraction in western china: Budhas and caves. This ones , Bingling Si , Lanzhou. The way to the caves... by boat. Jiayuguan. Here finishes the great wall.
Jiayuguan fort, the last chinese outpost. Beyond this , the wild west. Mogao caves , an artistical pre-islamic treasure. Photos inside are strictly forbidden. Forbidden picture.
Dunhuang dunes under the moonlight. To arrive here we had to dig a hole under the fence... because there is a fence all around the desert so you have to enter thought the gate and pay the fee!!!! Crazy! This picture is not any joke. The road is long long long.
Turfan
Exploring the desert like a real adventurer. City mosque. If you want to take a good pic here , come in the morning. Uyghur food market. Cuisine becomes  more and more suitable for our tastes and our genes: kebabs , bread , meat cakes!
Also our empathy level with the local people grows.... ... while chinesse continue being themselves. The track is long long too...
